A Scarecrow

If I were a scarecrow I'd have a lot of free time.  I would be able to see the birds and watch the sunrise and the sunset.  I would also watch the farmer work and look at the garden.  During the day time I would watch the clouds and think about think about their shapes.  At night I would look at the stars and find some constelations in the sky.  I would hear the birds crowing and the farmers tractor.  I would also hear the wind and rain on the plants.  I could also feel the plants and wind brush against me.  On a sunny day I would feel the hot son.  On rainy days I would feel the rain pounding on my face.  My world would be a calm place, if I were a scarecrow.

The Revolutionary Pursuit

The Declaration of Independence helped us become free.  The 13 colonies wanted freedom form England.  Before they created the declaration the King was cutting off the trade from the other parts of the world to the 13 colonies.  He also wanted taxes from them.  There was the Stamp act, there was the Town shed acts, and the Coercive acts.  To declare their freedom they wrote the Declaration of Independence.  The document was written by Thomas Jefferson in June and July in 1776.  On independence day the document was approved by the congress.  It was signed by the Continental Congress.  They sent the document to England for the king to sign it.  But he wouldn't sign it.  He declared war!  But the 13 colonists had Spain and France to join them.  The war started in 1775 and ended in 1783.  When the treaty of Paris started.  So the King named King George the III surrendered he signed the document.  Afterward the colonists were very happy that they were free.  Without the Declaration of Independence we would still be ruled by England.

Hooray for Apples

Red, Yellow, Green thats the colors of the orchard! Apples are red, yellow, green, and gold.  Apples are many colors.  They are a fruit and come in many different shapes and sizes.  An apple grows on a tree.  They bloom in spring, grow in the summer, and are ready to pick in the fall.  You harvest the apples for Thanksgiving.  You can use apples to make apple cider, apple pie, apple dumplings, and many other things.  My favorite apple is Honey Crisp.  My favorite thing to make is apple cider.  It keep you warm in the winter and it can be used at Thanksgiving.  Apple cider can also make you feel better when you are sick.  When you bite an apple it is sweet and juicy.  I love apples and think they are satisfying That is how I think apples are delicious.

The Signs of Fall

The summer had ended and fall has just begun.  You can tell because the leaves have a hint of red, yellow and brown in them.  Scattered on the ground are pinecones from the trees above them.  In the trees there are very little birds.  The birds and geese are flying sounth for the winter.  You can see and hear them flying in the sky.  The grass is turning brown and crunch when you step in it.  There are less bugs to bother you.  The leaves rustle as the wind passes by.  You can hear less crikets.  You can hear people talking about fall and having fun outside.  The air is geting cooler and is starting to bring lots of cold brezzes.  During the fall the pumkins are ready to pick and hallowen comes.  Then the apples and thanksgiving come and go but it is fall still.  We rake leaves and have fun with our familys.  That is how Summer has changed to fall.

Returning to School

The beginning of this school year is the best one I have ever had! What I have done so far is learn about what my schedule is going to look like. I have learned hot to do I, T, and U’s in cursive. I have also done many pages of spelling. I have written down facts for Gorge Washington and john Adams for my president’s report. In math I have had fun learning equations and multiplication. I have four new friends, named Kaile, Caitlyn, Chelsea, and Sabrina. Me, Kaile, and Chelsea go out to the sand ditches to make sand castles during recess time. My favorite time of day is reading time because it is so quiet. At P.E. I jump rope and do the dynamic warm-up and run. In music I am learning to sing songs and make lots of music. At lunch my friends and I sit together and talk and eat the lunches we have. When it is time to go I am sad to leave my friends but happy to see my family. So I think I am going to have a great year at school.
